Board and Management

Norman A. Seckold, Executive Chairman

 Mr Seckold has spent over 25 years in the full time management of natural resource companies, both in Australia and overseas. He has been the Chairman of a number of publicly listed companies including Moruya Gold Mines, Pangea Resources, Timberline Minerals, Perseverance Corporation Valdora Minerals, Viking Gold Corporation, Mogul Mining, and Bolnisi Gold which was the subject of a successful takeover bid of more than $1.3 billion in 2007. Mr Seckold is also currently the Chairman of Cockatoo Coal, Kings Minerals and Augur Resources.

Peter J. Nightingale, Executive Director, Company Secretary and CFO

Mr Nightingale is a Chartered Accountant and , for the past 20 years as a director or company secretary, has been responsiblefor the financial control, administration, secretarial and in-house legal functions of a number of private and public listed companies in Australia, the USA and Europe including Pangea Resources, Timberline Minerals, Perseverance Corporation, Valdora Minerals, Mogul Mining and Bolnisi Gold. Mr Nightingale is also currently a director of Augur Resources, Cockatoo Coal, Sumatra Copper & Gold and Chairman of Callabonna Uranium.

Ian G Halstead, CEO

Mr Halstead is a geologist and has more than 27 years of Oil and Gas upstream experience in South and South East Asia, and the United Kingdom, sixteen of which have been in senior management positions. Previous appointments include Chief Operating Officer for Pan Orient Energy Corp., Thailand, and for Cairn Energy PLC -Director/General Manager, Bangladesh; Group Risk/HSE Manager, UK; General Manager Far East, Singapore, and Director/General Manager, Thailand. Mr Halstead has been involved with all aspects of management in the oil and gas upstream sector and, with a strong operational bias, has developed organisations from their infancy into fully staffed and functional operational production teams. 

Robert M. Bell, Independent and Non-Executive Director

Mr Bell is a geologist with over 40 years experience specialising in oil and gas exploration in Australia and overseas. Mr Bell has significant experience in the CBM industry and was one of the original founders and directors of Queensland Gas Company.

Anthony J. McClure, Independent and Non-Executive Director

 Mr McClure has over 20 years’ of technical, management and financial experience in the resource sector within Australia, and internationally, in project management and executive development roles. He has worked in the financial services sector and stockbroking, primarily as a resource analyst. Mr McClure is a past Director of Bolnisi Gold and a past director of European Gas. 

Anthony J. McDonald, Independent and Non-Executive Director

 Mr McDonald is Managing Director of Cerro Resources NL and a non-executive director of Industrea Limited. He is a lawyer, having qualified in 1982.

Robert C. Neale, Independent and Non-Executive Director

 Mr Neale has more than 40 years’ experience in the mining and exploration industries covering coal, base metals, gold, synthetic fuels, bulk materials shipping, and power generation. He joined New Hope Corporation in 1996 as General Manager, and has been Chief Executive Officer since 2005. He was appointed to the board of directors of New Hope Corporation in November 2008 and is now Managing Director.
